In an elevated command prompt i type: pip install ffmpeg-normalize The failure is unrelated to ffmpeg, its due to ssmtp. Step 1: Install EPEL repository There is two repositories which we will be relying on to install FFMpeg on CentOS 8. This used to work fine in Python 2.7.13 but not in the latest version, it seems. FFmpeg Git, releases, FATE, web and mailinglists are on other servers and were not affected. The affected server was taken offline and has been replaced and all software reinstalled. I am trying to pip install ffmpeg-normalize in Python 3.6.1. The server on which FFmpeg and MPlayer Trac issue trackers were installed was compromised.
